A young Japanese audio company have recently launched headphones made almost entirely out of sustainably sourced wood. The project aims to offer people headphones that will last for a decade and which are easy to recycle at the end of their life.
As well as being eco-friendly, these headphones sound good too. Every pair has two 40mm high-quality drivers which have then been tuned by audio experts Azden.

The body is made of Japanese beech wood, which enhances musical sounds. This not only adds value to the H3, but also distinguish it apart from other headphones, making it special and unique.
« There seems to be a common misconception that sustainability is “difficult”, and so people often ignore it. We want to show people that it’s actually easy – it’s about choosing the right product. With the H3 headphones, sustainability is key to the whole process.” says Iida.

Lida hopes her product can be informational for showing larger companies it’s possible to use only sustainable materials.
“We are also making a donation from each pair of headphones we sell to the more Trees foundation in Japan, which supports forest maintenance locally as well as global reforestation initiatives.”
